Soi Dog Foundation offers meals relief for animals in flood-hit central Thailand

Unexplored ’s Soi Dog Foundation has this week offered over 40 tons of canine and cat meals for three,000+ animals affected by severe flooding within the central Thai provinces of Ayutthaya and Sing Buri. The food was distributed to stray and domestic animals in 5 districts… Bang Ban, Sena, Bang Pahan and Tha Ruea in Ayutthaya, and in Buri in Sing Buri.
Soi Dog Community Relations Manager Sakdapol Thongjan says they received reports of canines and cats struggling on account of the flooding and came up with a plan to assist, with the primary precedence being those who are starving.
“2,000 baggage of pet food and 230 bags of cat meals were supplied to native tambon administration organisations in districts affected by the flooding. We are preparing for the occasion that there are more affected regions and are continuing to work with the relevant native authorities.”

Soi Dog workers had to paddle boats to succeed in some flooding victims who’ve been stranded on the higher floors of their homes with little or no access to meals for their pets. One such victim in Sing Buri advised Soi Dog that his household had received survival supplies from their local OrBorTor however had been working out of food for his or her 9 cats who have been stranded alongside them in their submerged home.
“We need to blend canned fish with rice every meal so everyone feels full. So I’m pleased Soi Dog spotted me. There must be others in the area who are battling their pets and haven’t any food.”

Chief Monk Phra Khru Aobprachit Boonyarat, who cares for over 300 canine and cats at Ta Nod Temple in Ayutthaya, defined that pet meals donations have been already low on account of the pandemic and that the flooding has decreased them even additional.
“The outbreak of Covid-19 has resulted in a big reduction in donations, and we’ve encountered points in caring for our dogs and cats ever since. Topped off with the flooding, we are almost out of meals here. Thank you Soi Dog for lending a serving to hand in our hour of want.”
Soi Dog Foundation has helped giant numbers of animals displaced by flooding through the years, including in Nakhon Si Thammarat final year, in Ubon Ratchathani in 2019 and in Bangkok between 2011 and 2012. In addition to donating food, the foundation has also provided assistance in the type of sterilisation, vaccination and the reunion of misplaced animals with their owners.
With floodwaters persisting and further rain forecast, the inspiration has launched an emergency appeal and is requesting public assistance to ensure they’ve the resources to continue caring for displaced animals.
“Any support, whether from an individual or an organisation, is greatly appreciated in these unsure times. These animals are a part of our communities, and they need us now greater than ever.”
