A twenty-fold enhance in production was the aim of the Croatian automotive cosmetics company Alfa Car. To achieve this, the whole manufacturing cycle, housed in a new manufacturing plant, was automated. Festo provided a whole answer for more than 200 course of valves – together with project administration.
A number of completely different products together with water, alcohol, glycerine, surfactants, oleic and acetic acids, sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide are saved, transported, blended and bottled for the manufacturing of automobile cosmetic merchandise. This requires advanced course of automation solutions. The Croatian automobile cosmetics firm Alfa Car has taken a giant step into the future: while building a new manufacturing plant, the entire production cycle was absolutely automated, from the raw supplies to the bottling line for the finished merchandise. One level of focus was the seamless automation of the method valves.

Customised Six-figure
To tackle the challenge, the corporate labored along with the system integrator Arp Lučko and Festo. It would be Festo’s role to venture manage the automation of the method valves. To guarantee fast integration into the model new system and maximum reliability in the future manufacturing process, customised full solutions had been supplied that cowl the complete range, from the process valve models to the valve terminals. When choosing the mandatory components, explicit consideration needed to be paid to the potentially explosive environment.
Reliability counts
The communication between a lot of different automated ball valves and the new plant’s higher-level control system was also decisive for optimum course of automation. This requirement was met by a reliable solution with six valve terminals type VTUG with PROFINET bus connection. More than 200 ball valves from different producers can be fully automated in this way. Using a single supply for the ball valve solution took the strain off both Alfa Car and Arp Lučko when it got here to designing and installing the new system. The intensive coordination of the various course of valve suppliers, which Festo handled as part of its challenge management temporary, also made the venture easier.
